Power Pill Fist

Power Pill Fist

Power Pill Fist is Ken Fec of Pittsburgh, PA. Using a set-up of an Atari 2600, bass and pedals, PPF first surfaced in 2004 with the self-released split, "Chinese Witch Guy With An Ax," alongside Black Moth Super Rainbow. Power Pill subsequently made this an ongoing project, known as the "Vs." series, collaborating with multiple artists, including Bony Legs (a.k.a. Father Hummingbird) and I, Absentee label-mates Dorosoto and Mall Security. His debut album, "Extra Life," was released through Graveface Records in 2005. Fec then took to the road, establishing a visceral live show across the US, including a gig at the SXSW Festival.

The sophomore Power Pill album, "Kongmanivong," surfaced in 2008, establishing Fec as one of the most innovative artists in rhythmic noise and experimental music. The same year brought his first appearance with I, Absentee, on our debut compilation, "Birth Certificate." Power Pill Fist has remained a regular collaborator at the label, hitting the road for multiple tours alongside The Red Falcon Projects, completing the "White Noise Fury" and "Bite Marks" Vs. EPs alongside Dorosoto and Mall Security respectively, and participating in a remix for "The Twilight Fires" series at the label.

2013 saw PPF formally join the I, Absentee roster for his first vinyl release, the highly limited edition "Root Ball / Swear Jar" 7". The new material marked an integration of live drumming into the signature Power Pill Fist style, serving as a precursor to his full-length album "Werebeard," which was completed and released in 2015, closing a seven year gap since his previous album.
