Phasen
Phasen is Ryan Parmer of Florida. He began music as a teenager, introducing himself via several digital releases in 2007. The sounds were primarily downtempto IDM/electronica, reminiscent of the U-Cover label. By no coincidence, the material found it's way to U-Cover's attention, and over the course of 2008, he delivered several releases through the label. Albums such as 'Quarterlife Crisis' and 'Summer Sessions', as well as 'The Crisis Is Over' for Distant Noise, helped establish his name in the electronic scene. He capped off the busy year with 'Selected Remixes 2007-2008', which featured remixes from Cheju, Mrs Jynx, Electricwest, Ontayso and many more. In 2009, Phasen launched his own imprint, known as [Unnamed Label] Records. In summer 2009, Phasen released through I, Absentee what he considers his most accomplished material to date, 'Listening To Old West Coast Rap'. It presents a maturity in sound, while thematically exploring some of his influences of the 90s hip hop scene of West Coast America. Not to be mislead by the title, however, the album is pure Phasen, only better than ever. It's sure to be a favorite among fans his previous work.
